Westend Studio Apt by City Living Scotland Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Westend Studio Apt by City Living Scotland on Cleveland Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The building itself is pretty typical for this part of the West End, you know, those classic Glasgow tenements that line the streets around here. What struck me right away was how quiet this stretch of Cleveland Street actually is, especially considering you’re just a stone’s throw from all the action on Byres Road.

The studio itself is… well, it’s functional. I mean, for a 3-star place, you’re getting exactly what you’d expect – nothing fancy, but it does the job. The space feels a bit cramped if you’re used to hotel rooms, but there’s something oddly charming about having your own little Glasgow flat, even if it’s just for a few nights. The kitchenette is basic but actually useful – I grabbed some groceries from the Tesco on Byres Road (maybe a 5-minute walk) and made breakfast a couple of mornings. The bed’s comfortable enough, though the walls are pretty thin – you’ll definitely hear your neighbors if they’re night owls.

What I really appreciated was the location, honestly. You’re right in the heart of the West End without being stuck in the tourist chaos around Ashton Lane. Glasgow’s subway is super close – Hillhead station is literally around the corner, which makes getting to the city center or out to the airport pretty painless. And speaking of getting around, forget about parking if you’re driving – the streets here are packed, but that’s just Glasgow for you. The area comes alive in the evenings, especially on weekends, so if you’re a light sleeper, maybe pack some earplugs. But honestly, that energy is part of what makes staying in this neighborhood worth it. You’ve got the Botanic Gardens just up the road for morning walks, and some genuinely good pubs and cafes within stumbling distance. The whole setup feels more like you’re actually living in Glasgow for a bit rather than just passing through, which I kind of loved despite the place being pretty no-frills. Just don’t expect luxury – this is more about location and that authentic Glasgow flat experience than fancy amenities.

Reviews of Westend Studio Apt by City Living Scotland

  • Very Poor – Omar from Spain – June 7, 2025 (2/10)

    Supermarket close.

What could be improved: It looked like it was under construction as the ceiling was unfinished, the fridge was dirty and smelly, a lamp beside the bed was broken. Also, the landlord did not want to help to make TV work.
