The location is brilliant, actually – you’re close enough to Glasgow city center that you can pop in whenever you want, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with all the weekend noise from the bars on Sauchiehall Street. And honestly, being this close to the airport is a godsend if you’re flying in and out for work. I’ve stayed in places where getting to the airport feels like a military operation, but here? It’s genuinely stress-free. The house itself has that solid Victorian feel you get with older Glasgow properties – thick walls, high ceilings, the kind of place that stays cool in summer and warm in winter without cranking the heating up to ridiculous levels.

What really works here is how they’ve thought about groups staying together. The kitchen is properly equipped (I’m talking actual cooking space, not just a kettle and some sad packets of instant coffee), and there’s enough common area that you can spread out without feeling cramped. The bedrooms are comfortable without being fancy – good beds, decent storage, and thank god, proper curtains that actually block out light. You’d be surprised how many places get that wrong. The whole place runs smoothly too – check-in was straightforward, parking sorted, none of that faff you sometimes get with smaller properties. I noticed they keep the place really well maintained; everything just works the way it should.

The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Blythswood Square Hotel, but it’s miles better than those soulless budget chains. That 8.8 rating makes sense when you consider what most people are actually looking for: clean, comfortable, well-located, and reasonably priced. Plus, if you’re here for work, being able to cook your own meals and have proper space to spread out your stuff makes such a difference. The South side location means you’re also pretty well connected to the rest of the city – the subway’s not far, and if you’ve got a car, getting around Glasgow from here is straightforward once you get used to the one-way systems (which, let’s be honest, take everyone a while to figure out). It’s the sort of place I’d book again without hesitation, especially for longer stays where you want to feel settled rather than just passing through.
