The Skyline Suite – *Private Balcony* *Views* Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked into The Skyline Suite – *Private Balcony* *Views*, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place on Kent Road. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. The building itself is pretty typical Glasgow tenement style, but once you’re inside this particular apartment, the whole vibe shifts. The space feels way more upscale than the star rating suggests, and that balcony — well, that’s where the magic happens.

Location & Neighborhood

The spot in Glasgow’s North West is actually brilliant if you know the city. You’re close enough to the West End’s buzz without dealing with the tourist crowds, and I mean, you can walk to the Kelvingrove area in about fifteen minutes. The street itself is quiet — mostly locals going about their business — but you’ve got decent shops and a proper pub just around the corner. What I really appreciated was how easy it is to get into the city center; the subway’s not far, and if you’re driving, there’s parking that won’t cost you a fortune.

The Space Itself

This isn’t your typical hotel room setup — it’s more like staying in someone’s well-appointed flat. The kitchen is compact but functional (I made coffee every morning without any fuss), and the living area actually gives you space to spread out. The bedroom’s comfortable enough, though the real star is that private balcony they mention in the name. On a clear day, you genuinely get some lovely views across the city, and it’s perfect for having your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.

What Makes It Special

Here’s the thing that surprised me most — the attention to detail. The owners clearly put thought into making this feel like a home rather than just another rental. There’s proper glassware, decent linens, and little touches like local guidebooks and recommendations. The balcony furniture is comfortable (not just thrown together), and honestly, I spent more time out there than I expected. For couples especially, I can see why this place gets such good ratings — it’s intimate without feeling cramped, and you’ve got your own little outdoor space in the middle of the city.

Why Guests Love It

After staying here, I totally get why people rate this place so highly. It’s that sweet spot where you’re getting more than you paid for — the space, the location, the views — without any of the stuffiness you might find at pricier places. The fact that it consistently gets top marks for location tells you everything; locals know this area is well-connected and authentic. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels like a proper Glasgow experience rather than just a place to sleep, this suite delivers. Just don’t expect hotel services like daily housekeeping — this is more about having your own little corner of the city.

Glasgow’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Victorian elegance and modern Scottish hospitality, with many featuring spa services and authentic Highland cultural experiences.

Fantastic location, great space, they accommodated our early check in.

  • Samantha from United Kingdom (9/10)

Apartment was beautiful, the pictures definitely didn’t do it any justice, it was a lot bigger than we expected and had everything we needed. The owner was also amazing, it was my friends birthday and she helped with setting up some decorations for us arriving, we were able to contact her easily and she was so helpful and quick to respond. Will definitely be back next time I’m staying in Glasgow. Highly recommend!

The location was superb! And the apartment was perfect for our little 2yrs old girl with freedom for her to run about instead being stuck in a hotel room, plus with all the facilities are perfect for families – like home away from home! The host was incredibly understanding even over small silly questions about anything, she welcomes it. Plenty of foods/drinks nearby and Tesco literally on the corner of the apartment.
Parking is on the street I had no problem finding spaces and they are free over the weekend

Lovely place to stay, comfortable bed and nice bedroom, nice furniture throughout and a really clean apartment. TV was great, kitchen and bathroom nice, and really clean. Balcony was an added bonus! Had everything you needed and the host was really lovely, helpful and give plenty of information. Would happily stay here again!
